Important results from the project
The project achieved its main goals of developing an implementation roadmap for V2G technology and initiating collaborations with key players in California. Other important outcomes include the creation of new networks and partnerships with the California Energy Commission (CEC) and Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), which paves the way for future projects and innovation opportunities.
Expected long term effects
In the long term, the project is expected to lead to increased integration of V2G technology, which will facilitate the transition to more sustainable energy solutions. The increased collaboration between Swedish and American stakeholders is expected to create new business models and opportunities for the large-scale adoption of V2G solutions, promoting a more flexible and efficient energy market.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out through recurring meetings between EPRI and Polestar, focusing on V2G applications for private individuals with their own households. EPRI contributed expertise and network support to develop an implementation roadmap and identify relevant partners. Preparatory meetings were held and NDAs were signed to enable in-depth discussions during the field study. Some delays occurred due to agreement negotiations, but the project was completed according to the revised timeline.
