Important results from the project
The goals of the project were 1. Define effect of extraction pathway on physical parameters of arabinoxylan and 2. Increase knowledge among doctoral students and industrial partners on the use and implementation of neutron scattering. Number 1 has not been met with the use of scattering that was our objective. This is because Covid-19 has increased search pressure on European facilities, delayed maintenance of facilities and that radiation time at overseas facilities has not been applied for due to travel restrictions. Number two is fully met, see below.
Expected long term effects
The project has contributed to a greater understanding of scattering techniques, scattering facilities, beamtime application process among all involved, industrial partners, doctoral students and senior researchers. Our network has been expanded, which is perceived as particularly important in the area of food and distribution techniques.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** We have worked experimentally with samples, through workshops, through courses and joint writing of applications to gain an understanding of the process of going from test to actually getting radiation time. We believe that an important part is an understanding of sample preparation and knowledge of samples that are needed before radiation time is applied for, and how to go about practically getting radiation time. We have also actively worked for an expanded and relevant network.
