Important results from the project

The goal of the project was to develop a concept that integrates development of technology, competence and business, and which will be useful for process industries and their ICT and automation suppliers. The project has developed a concept and a demonstrator based on the assumption that innovation and development presupposes learning. Therefore it has to be a kind of learning space. The concept developed in the project is described in more detail in the attached Final Report.

Results: A project report that describes the concept that integrates development of technology, competence and business A digital demonstrator (simulation) that illustrates the concept Workshops and meetings with participating companies A short description of important challenges for R&D within the area During the project we realized that guidelines becomes better if the concept is tested in a real business, hence this result wasn´t delivered. Effects: Competence development, inspiration and guidance for companies/researchers, enhancement of PiiA as an innovation area.

Approach and implementation

The project has been organized in four work packages: (1) Project management, (2) Business development: Concept and technology, (3) Competence development: Concept and technology and (4) Methods and technology for integrated competence and technology development. Each work package has had a WP leader and a strict time schedule. In general terms the project has been running smoothly, and the only major revision of the project was that the start of the project was delayed due to an unlucky accident.
