Purpose and goal

The goal of the project has been to effectively validate and verify innovations and research results from the four universities (KAU, LNU, MIUN and ORU) that make up IK Fyrklövern, so that more of these can create value in business and the rest of society. IK Fyrklövern´s overall goal is to meet contemporary and future societal challenges by utilization of research-based knowledge and contributing to more innovations from students, researchers and other staff.

Expected results and effects

The pandemic has had a major impact on the way our operations, but the overall effects of IK Fyrklövern´s verification operations are not particularly large. We have a total inflow during the period that is on par with previous periods, but there has been a greater proportion of student ideas than before the pandemic - probably due to researchers having to reschedule research projects and teaching. During the period, innovations from IK Fyrklövern have received national & international attention, attracted private investment, been listed on the stock exchange or utilized in other ways.

Planned approach and implementation

During the period, we made major developments in our verification activities: In 2021, we switched to a CRM system that is used by all innovation advisors within IK Fyrklövern´s four universities. New process, PISP, for IK Fyrklövern´s operations (incl. verification). Developed an improved process for verification activities (Nascent, Progressive & Advanced) which will be introduced in Q3 2022. Thanks to the pandemic, our ability to deliver our support and services to researchers/employees and students has increased significantly. Therefore, a more effective CRM was necessary.
