Purpose and goal

The long term objective is to contribute to position Swedish electronics companies in selected areas in 2025 in absolute world top. The project has three overall long-term goals: 1) Create better knowledge transfer and interaction in the value chain. 2) Create a national excellence in focused areas 3) Supply of skills The targets are set according to the project in progress for ten years and to comment on the fulfillment is far too early.

Results and expected effects

Long-term strengthening of interaction in the value chain is achieved by rewarding projects with multiple stakeholders in a value chain in the calls . Calls supporting excellent innovations. In addition, financing an innovation cluster in printed electronics. An initiative which ultimately will result in Swedish companies can be in the forefront to launch products based on this disruptive technology. A project - Attraktionskraft - has started to increase recruitment to upper secondary school which lays the foundation for employability in the electronics industry.

Approach and implementation

To ensure the correct actions in all three target areas a great depth interview series with Swedish companies was made. The number of companies are sufficiently numerous and randomly selected to ensure a representative sample of companies in four groups, electronics manufacturing companies and companies with electronics in their products as well as SMEs and large corporations.
