Purpose and goal

The innovation partnership programme called "A connected industry and new materials" has indicated "Competency Supply - Engineers and PhD with the right profile, appeal of the industry for future talent" as a priority. This, of course, focuses the attention on the industry´s ability to attract and retain future employees. The aim of this project is to test and evaluate new innovative ideas for long-term strengthening of the competence supply while contemporarily establishing a culture of cross learning and a lasting structure for collaboration.

Expected results and effects

The project is expected to stimulate and spread innovative approaches to increase the industry´s appeal and competence. It is also expected to direct the participants´ resources to areas where the needs are the greatest and in a way that maximizes the benefit. In the long run, the effect will be that the future supply of competence to metal industry will be strengthened.

Planned approach and implementation

The project will plan and perform an open call, prepare applications for so called "Enskilda projekt", support, coordinate and evaluate the funded projects, stimulate exchange between the projects and disseminate results. Additional activities, such as the development of a collection of 3D-printed steel accessories and the relaunch of a network for women working in the metal industry, will be performed.
