Call Impact Innovation: Preparatory project for a reformed public sector in 2026

Purpose and goal

The starting point is the patient´s perspective on what is needed to feel good and make everyday life work. The pilot study focuses on people with Parkinson´s disease, where physical activity is important for health and well-being. The goal is to investigate how the gap between care and wellness can be bridged and how people can be supported to find ways to make physical activity work in their everyday life. The potential of the approach for more target groups is also being investigated.

Expected effects and result

The pilot study will highlight recurring obstacles and gaps in the system and identify opportunities for better overview and collaboration between healthcare and other actors. The results will provide a basis for developing and testing support that strengthens the individual´s security and opportunities to influence their health.

Planned approach and implementation

For six months, service design and user-centered methods are used to explore the everyday lives of people with Parkinson´s disease, their relatives and healthcare professionals. Through interviews, analysis and validation, needs, obstacles and gaps in the system are identified. The work is led by Designcentrum Jämtland Härjedalen, who is part of Region Jämtland Härjedalen, in collaboration with Karolinska Institutet, Karolinska Hospital and the Parkinson´s Association.
