Important results from the project

In the project, networking has resulted in the formation of 2 Horizon Europe- consortiums where 2 proposals will be submitted in February 2025. The networking activites have taken place via for instance Greenovate!Europe and has resulted in new contacts and collaborations (both German and French) between both academia, institutes and industry.

Expected long term effects

Increased cooperation between the 3 countries and the concept will contribute to developing a near zero-waste energy-driven biorefinery with coproduction of materials. This can 1) increase resource efficiency renewable energy production 2) reduce greenhouse gas emissions 3) increase the availability of renewable and bio-based energy 4) increase the robustness of the energy system 5) Increase the utilization rate of available biomass 6) Increase the self-sufficiency of energy in EU.

Approach and implementation

The project has been carried out through networking events, workshops, team meetings and editathon. The timeline has been kept based on the amendment application and both consortia are basically complete 3 months before the deadline for the proposal deadlines. The networking has been successful and resulted in many new collaborations. The proposals have been coordinated technically and administratively and the writing is already ongoing.
