Purpose and goal
We want to build a dystopian future prototype for living in 2050 with aim to create driving forces for the necessary shifts in the housing and construction sector. In this way, to create a resource-conscious, fossil-free and sustainable society. We want to share the knowledge and new insights to key people in the civil engineering sector. HSB takes the insights into its strategy with the ambition to take on a leadership role for the transition within the industry.
Expected effects and result
The drive for change is started in the experience in the prototype and deepened in dialogue. By involving key people, we explore how strategic foresight can be used to set bold objective, a culture change that supports innovation and future orientation. HSB wants to lead the way towards circular business models and create integrated ecosystems for the built environment, instead of today´s silo structures. We want to inspire more actors to follow suit and contribute to a change in the industry.
Planned approach and implementation
Through a prototype, we want to show in a concrete and physical way what a day in a residence in 2050 could look like if we do not act now to slow down climate change and increased insecurity. The main message is that "business as usual" is not a sustainable option. We want to show a future we must avoid and thereby create a strong driving force for action and change. The prototype can be experienced both individually and in groups to promote discussion and influence future social construction.
