Purpose and goal

This project was a feasibility study for a subsequent project. A project team of Avure was created. Contact with external partners from industry and academia has been established. Indirect contact with a material supplier has been established through one of the interviewed companies in his group also has a manufacturer of titanium. An estimate of the market needs in the aerospace industry for the proposed method has been made. Materials are defined as especially interesting and suitable for the continuation project.

Results and expected effects

Interviews were conducted with five companies in three different categories: OEM, manufacturer of subsystems (engines) and manufacturer of parts/components. The contact group also includes an entity that has a material supplier within their corporate group. Market needs in the aerospace industry for the proposed method has been estimated A test matrix for further work has been developed. A furnace have been purchased for the continuation project. The cost of this has not been included in this project.

Approach and implementation

A project team consisting of 7 people within Avure is formed. Contact with Luleå University and IDC Olofström have been established. An interview group has been established. Interviews have been conducted. A test model and test matrix for the next tests have been developed. Questions were developed with the help of AB Interview consulting. Images produced by the design firm Kobolt. An analysis of interview responses and Avures market research shows that market and market needs are present.
