Important results from the project

The purpose of the planning grant is for Nordic Strategy Partners to participate and write parts of proposal for the DEEPXPLORE project for the call for proposals HORIZON-CL4-2024-RESILIENCE-01-01. The overall goal of the project is to provide a clearer understanding of the EU´s mineral potential and to develop sustainable exploration techniques for critical raw materials in deep underground deposits. NSP will take on the role of bridging the gap between research and market-ready applications in the project. Proposal was submitted for assessment in the EU portal on 7 February 2024.

Expected long term effects

The project result is a completed and submitted proposal to Horizon Europe. Effects that are obtained even if the project does not receive funding are networking as well as in-depth knowledge of the state of research for exploration techniques for deep deposits. If project is granted, NSP will have an opportunity to learn more about sustainable and efficient exploration methods for deep ground deposits with a focus on critical raw materials, and we will be able to ensure that eligibility requirements and wishes from Swedish mining and exploration companies will be heard in the project.

Approach and implementation

The project was conducted in close collaboration with the consortium´s other participants where, through workshops, interviews and desktop research, we produced a completed proposal for Horizon Europe. The coordinating partner in proposal was very structured and provided professional templates, plans and structure which facilitated the work and has provided NSP with useful lessons for the future.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
