Important results from the project
High-Int enabled a cooperation between both Ericsson and KTH on antennas and microwave circuits for wireless communications. In particular, we investigated, design and measured a number of efficient integrated antenna solutions for 5G/6G communications.
Expected long term effects
In summary, we have developed the theory of lens antennas, and we have demonstrated the limitations of these antennas with a number of prototypes. We have integrated these antennas with polarizers and complex feeding networks. Our results have been disseminated in conferences and journals. As a result of the project, a number of former students have found a career in the field of microwave/antenna technology.
Approach and implementation
The project was conduced between KTH and Ericsson. The researchers in Ericsson were located in both Gothenburg and Stockholm. The numerical analyses were conducted with in-house and commercial software. The experiments were manufactured externally and measured at the Division of Electromagnetic Engineering at KTH in Stockholm.
