Call Mobility for innovation, learning and knowledge exchange for a sustainable industry

Important results from the project

The aim of the call was to create relationships and contact areas that can provide new conditions for a long-term and lasting collaboration. The project successfully pursued that by bidirectional knowledge exchange, getting known to each other, and building relationships by meeting and together solving concrete problems on site.

Expected long term effects

The achieved direct technical results will increase the sustainability of the paper machines. Both sides gained insight, knowledge, and skills. This has and will influence the industry partners’ daily work toward increased sustainability. The academic partner gained an inside view of the Swedish process industry. Better insight has led and will leads to increased collaboration in education and research. Several personal relationships were created, and existing ones substantially deepened.

Approach and implementation

Martin stayed regularly at both, the mill in Braviken and Iggesund. Together we work on concrete problems utilizing various methods of data analysis. The collaboration led fast to first results. Additionally, Martin met many people in the organizations and participated in staff activities and an internal course. With the gained insights and contacts several project applications have been compiled and student projects / thesis formulated. Some of these student projects will finish soon, others will start soon.
