Important results from the project

The project largely achieved its initial goals. It established a clear vision, defined priority research areas, and built a strong national consortium with broad industry engagement. Key research challenges and innovation opportunities were identified in collaboration with industry. In addition, the project created new networks, strengthened national coordination, and provided a solid foundation for the Excellence Cluster application.

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to contribute to long-term effects by establishing the basis for a national Excellence Cluster in sustainable polymers and fibers. This can strengthen Sweden´s international competitiveness, promote the development of new sustainable materials and technologies, and increase collaboration between academia and industry. The networks and structures that have been created enable future research collaborations, innovation, and external funding.

Approach and implementation

The project was implemented according to plan and followed the set schedule. The approach of an initial consortium meeting and a subsequent national workshop with industry proved to be effective in developing the vision, research focus and collaboration model. The collaboration between the actors worked well and the commitment was high. No decisive external factors or unexpected events affected the implementation of the project to any great extent.
