Purpose and goal
The aim is to arrange a hackathon with open data from a number of agencies (at the moment we are 15 agencies). The goal is that some 80 persons will take part in the event. Accomplishment: 20 agencies where involved in arranging the hackathon. 89 persons participated during the event.
Results and expected effects
The expected effect of open data been used in new applications and services was achieved. The result was no less the fifteen fully functional applications where a significant number of them have good potential to reach a commercial status.
Approach and implementation
The planning of the project started during August 2014 which was in good manner and time for us to accomplish the event in time. To run the hackathon as an onsite event in Stockholm turned out to be a success since the event was fully booked just three weeks after the announcement of the event. We decided to not have any keynote speaker, instead we managed to arrange with two ministers to attend at the opening and award ceremony. Beside some minor technical problems (projector) everything went as planned.
