GreenRoute – Optimisation of freight transports, for a sustainable future

Important results from the project

The project has met the goals of the proposal, and developed a prototype that visualizes climate impact of freight transport in the form of a heatmap, both CO2 and particles. The prototype can be used on both data from completed routes, but also datasets on planned routes. Collected user feedback from the city of Helsingborg, and from haulage companies. However, there are major challenges regarding the municipality being able to set eligibility requirements around this in future procurements.

Expected long term effects

The project´s actors continue their work on visualizing the climate impact of freight transport, both completed routes and route planning.

Approach and implementation

It is a challenge with a shorter project, in the form of a feasibility study. However, the project has been carried out according to plan, and we have had the opportunity to work with data, develop a prototype, and collect feedback.
