Important results from the project
The goal for GreenNano was met by the development of goods and services that contribute to reduced flood risks, cleaner water and at the same time contribute to more attractive cities. GreenNano has e.g. contributed to the development of treatment technologies for stormwater, as well as adaptation of treatment technologies, as these should adapted to identified pollutants in specific stormwater. GreenNano has also contributed to the implementation and evaluation of several researchable full-scale facilities for stormwater treatment in Swedish climate.
Expected long term effects
GreenNano´s results are of great interest to various types of actors in the water and wastewater industry. The results will be used by regulatory authorities, customers, developers and suppliers of stormwater treatment solutions, as well as form the basis for international research collaborations, etc. Through the participating parties, GreenNano contributes both to direct economic value and green growth.
Approach and implementation
GreenNano has been led by Luleå University of Technology in collaboration with around 30 parties from the entire value chain, i.e. stakeholders in the form of companies and municipalities, consulting companies, contracting companies, regulatory authorities, and researchers. The work of the project´s work packages and sub-projects have been carried out by researchers in collaboration with partners, for the development of products and services that meet the project´s aim and objective.
