Graphene based electromagnetic compatibility materia

Reference number
Coordinator RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 440 000
Project duration March 2021 - December 2022
Status Completed
Venture Strategic innovation program SIO Grafen
Call SIO Grafen - Collaboration on commercial graphene applications, autumn 2020

Important results from the project

The project aims to replace current metal-based materials with graphene-based materials to ensure electromagnetic compatibility function in industry towards a more environmentally friendly and recyclable alternative. The method proposed in this project is based on circular economy. Materials have been tested by mixing graphene with plastic or coating wood fiber to replace nickel and aluminium by graphene in EMC materials.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** This project showed the potential to produce graphene from biochar (byproduct of biogas production). And graphene can be used in wood fiber composites for bio-based and recyclable EMC materials. Graphene can help achieve bio-based circular economy.

Approach and implementation

All partners have been actively involved in the project and have conducted the works as planned. Collaborations were tight and knowledge exchanges were open. Even though not all requirements have been fullfilled for the product manufactures, they still showed great interest to continue to understand graphene innovation.
