Important results from the project
GovTech4all has achieved its goals of testing and spreading innovative digital solutions in the public sector through joint pilots in several EU countries. The project has strengthened collaboration between municipalities, startups, and clusters, developed new approaches to innovation procurement, and contributed knowledge about AI and energy efficiency. Key results include lessons on data sharing, governance, and scaling solutions across borders.
Expected long term effects
The most significant impact is that there are now concrete examples of how GovTech can be implemented in Europe, with lessons from Sweden’s innovation system. The EU Commission has valued the project, and beyond the continuation (part 2), discussions are ongoing about the work after 2027. For Sweden, this offers opportunities for innovation and business, with a chance to take a leading role in creating and exporting new solutions.
Approach and implementation
The project was based on joint pilots across the EU, innovation procurement, and knowledge sharing. The setup worked well, and the activities were relevant. The project developed as planned, although technical challenges and complex collaboration sometimes affected the timeline. Cooperation was constructive and provided concrete examples of how GovTech can be implemented in practice.
