Purpose and goal

This has been a feasibility study to establish a "In real-life testing" operation (a lab) in a Swedish municipality. It will speed up testing of work-modes and tools in order to improve life-quality of elderly citizens. This is a huge challenge. There are - overall - three routes to walk: implementering of new technology, improve organisational form and support a healthy life by activation. A case study has enabled ut to define the prerequisites to match in order to establish an operation of this kind in order to make it real and successful.

Expected results and effects

This study should contribute to creating an interest and a desire from a local municipality to act as a host for the lab intended. We have also been able to more accurately define the demands a municipality may have and we have generated insights into how such an operation could be run och what kinds of problems need to be managed in order that such tests - in an operative context, should be possible to carry out and guarantee scientifically established results. We have also been able to estimate the resources needed. The result is, thus, a study that will facilitate decisions to give a go and how.

Planned approach and implementation

We have carried out a case-study in which a broad range of actors, key informants, within a municipality, region, voluntary workers as well as private entrepreneurs have been interviewed. This method enabled us to receive a total view of the cooperative elements and frictions that relates to this context. By acting this way an image has emerged which has not only enabled adaptations of design and coming implementation of a main study, but also create improved prerequisites that the project will effectively implemented and end up in meaningful and interesting results.
