Important results from the project

The project met its objectives and contributed to several important results. Collaboration has led to increased understanding between actors regarding the division of responsibilities, needs and challenges. The discussions have led to increased understanding of the goals and approaches for continued activities. The project also led to a common viewpoint; a holistic perspective on water (e.g. coordination with biodiversity measures) would have good synergies with climate adaptation measures.

Expected long term effects

The project in the long term is expected to lead to increased collaboration within the catchment area between public actors, businesses, landowners and the public. Also increased awareness among the public and strengthened ability to work with climate adaptation among the actors in the project group. By disseminating key experiences from this and future projects nationally and internationally, the project can increase the pace of climate adaptation from a catchment area perspective.

Approach and implementation

All planned activities have been implemented according to plan and the goals have been achieved. The project has established a collaboration structure, conducted workshops and strengthened the network locally in the catchment area. The actors have identified challenges and opportunities linked to flood risks and future activities to adress those. A success factor has been creating a common understanding of the needs of the parties, which has laid the foundation for continued collaboration.
