Call A new recipe for the food system - establishment of innovation platforms for a sustainable food system

Purpose and goal

Establish an innovation platform based on the mission that 9 out of 10 meals consumed in Sweden should be within the planet´s boundaries by 2040. In an exploratory manner and in collaboration with other actors, mobilize for increased availability and stable demand for sustainably produced food. The project takes as its starting point risk sharing, economic enabling in primary production and new routes to market by exploring different incentive mechanisms to increase value of sustainable food.

Expected effects and result

Contribute to experimentation, innovation and building knowledge by initiating prototype projects with focus on; new ways of collaborating, simplifying for actors to transition and to inspire by challenge current ways of working, to achieve a system change towards a diet that is within the planetary boundaries. Contribute to engaging and coordinating an ecosystem of actors by connecting and creating synergies between similar projects to accelerate transformation in line with the mission.

Planned approach and implementation

To explore new methods of working and new forms of collaboration through prototype projects to increase the supply and demand for sustainably produced food. To mobilize actors through networking activities such as workshops, seminars, etc. to connect similar projects and disseminate and share project lessons for increased joint learning. To identify, together with actors, new areas that need further development or new ways of working so that our diet is within the limits of the planet.
