Important results from the project

We have investigated possibilities of establishing local action places for food system. The goals have been achieved: we have identified the conditions, needs, risks and possibilities for how such places can be organized and financed to create social impact. In Stockholm we see strong local commitment and possible financing paths. In Malmö, the project has initiated a collaborative process that is now being taken forward by Region Skåne and the city of Malmö through a new pilot project.

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to eventually lead to the establishment of at least one action hub in Stockholm, with the potential to serve as a center for collaboration and systemic transformation within the food system. In Malmö, the project has laid the foundation for an actor-driven development toward a future action hub. Together, these pathways create the conditions to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable, healthy, and just food system.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out between November 2024 and April 2025, led by Reformaten in collaboration with EY Doberman, Region Skåne, and the City of Malmö, Implemented in 4 phases: research, conceptualization, anchoring, and synthesis. The implementation largely followed the original plan. The work included interviews, workshops, site visits, and an event where the concepts were tested. The collaboration between partners worked well, with clear division of responsibilities and regular check-ins.
