Call Impact Innovation: Preparatory project for a reformed public sector in 2026

Purpose and goal

The project aims to explore how information sharing, patient involvement and coordination can be improved for people with complex care needs, using the Swedish MS Registry as a demonstration environment. Its objectives are to develop a shared system understanding, identify root causes of fragmentation and analyse organisational, legal, technical and governance barriers, providing a foundation for a jointly developed implementation project.

Expected effects and result

Expected results include a shared and validated understanding of the system and its challenges, identified barriers and needs for change, an established stakeholder constellation and prioritised solution concepts. These will inform a concrete implementation project. In the longer term, the work aims to reduce duplicated efforts, improve information flows, strengthen patient involvement and enable more coordinated care, with relevance beyond MS care.

Planned approach and implementation

The project runs from October 2026 to March 2027 and is carried out by Region Stockholm, Neuroförbundet and ILG. Through a kick-off meeting, four workshops, interviews, stakeholder dialogues and joint analysis, the project will map information flows, patient needs, responsibilities and barriers to coordination. The Swedish MS Registry serves as a concrete case. Activities include problem analysis, development and assessment of solution concepts, and preparation of an implementation project.
