Purpose and goal

The project has fulfilled its purpose and goals. The aim has been to improve the opportunities for innovators and aid organizations to bring more circular, inclusive, and sustainable innovations to those in need or in areas with shortages in electricity and water supply networks defined as “off-grid innovations”. Expected results and effects

The project´s results have effects on several Global Sustainability Goals and in particular No. 6 on water and sanitation and No. 17 on collaborations. The results consist of scientific studies of the market, an AI tool for matching innovation to global procurements, a university course on innovation design, new methods for scaling up and exporting, and field validation of four Swedish innovative sustainable water and sanitation solutions. New collaborations and projects have been created between business and global aid. Read more on the website www.swashgrow.org.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been implemented with 28 partners from Sweden, Bolivia, Lebanon, and South Africa with representatives from the public and private sector as well as academia and civil society. The implementation has taken place in six work packages which, in addition to project coordination and communication, included scientific studies of the market, development of the AI tool, tests and validation in the field of innovations and business development of the export platforms. Results have been regularly reconciled with a reference group from the aid- and export promotion sector.
