Call Digitization of industrial value chains

Purpose and goal

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Deep Forestry AB has developed a hardware and software solution for classification of forest stands. In this project, the system has been tested under real conditions with good results. By using a drone to collect data several months before harvesting takes place, the entire value chain can be digitized. A survey has been carried out to clearly understand where value can be added throughout the commercial value chain in forestry. Project partners have been Deep Forestry AB, Rise Processum AB and Linköping Universitet.

Expected results and effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The results have been very good based on the project´s research questions. The feasibility study shows in its entirety clear efficiency gains and resource savings throughout the forestry value chain. The developed hardware and software shows surprisingly good results where expected results have been achieved with a minimal amount of input data. The survey conducted together with Rise Processum points out the actors that can see a need and which ones may be relevant for a possible follow-up project.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been carried out in three parallel work packages: -Real data was collected through a field study where the object was a forest stand that was facing final harvesting, -In collaboration with Linköping University, software has been developed for classifying objects in forestry, -A survey has been conducted where key people have been interviewed to show the need and where the technology can add value. Implementation has been effective where the parties have been given the opportunity to work independently. The overall result exceeds the expected outcome of the project.
