Purpose and goal

The project will establish a national innovation platform that strengthens local food preparedness and self-sufficiency and contributes to a more sustainable food system. The goal is to mobilize civil society actors in the development of local, circular food systems where food is created closely, sustainably and together. Through collaboration, innovation and resource sharing, a robust and resilient food system is built where everyone has access to nutritious food - regardless of external crisis

Expected effects and result

The project will result in a national innovation platform that strengthens local food production, collaboration and crisis preparedness. Civil society actors are organized in an ecosystem to develop and disseminate sustainable food systems. The effects will be increased self-sufficiency, reduced import dependence and a resilient food system where more people can contribute to creating locally produced, healthy food – together.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is driven by a core team that, together with civil society actors, develops, tests and disseminates solutions in the areas of organization, funding, resource sharing, logistics, knowledge and capacity building. Through close collaboration, agile working methods and a decentralized governance model, an ecosystem of civil society actors is built. The platform coordinates knowledge, funding, networking and tools to enable local food production and increased food preparedness in Sweden
