Important results from the project

Biotech Heights´s objective was well met. We have established a functioning innovation platform with strong collaboration between key people from different sectors and disciplines. The project also contributed to important results such as the establishment of Nordic collaborations, active participation in European networks and the identification of scale-up infrastructure. The platform has led to a large increase in project funds in the form of several new research and innovation projects.

Expected long term effects

Biotech Heights will strengthen Sweden´s international position in food and bioprocess technology with broad research commitment and a large industrial commitment. Biotech Heights will develop a new industry, biosolutions, in Sweden. For this industry to grow and become globally competitive, strategic collaboration between different actors, sectors and disciplines is absolutely crucial. This will lead to sustainable growth, new jobs and strengthened competitiveness within the Swedish bioeconomy.

Approach and implementation

The project was implemented through a core team that drove the work forward together with key people from different sectors. We worked in four work packages: management and communication, platform meetings and project development, knowledge acquisition and preparations for the next stage. Through workshops, areas of intervention, resources and joint project were identified. The focus was on collaboration, learning and creating a structure for long-term system change.
