Purpose and goal

The purpose of the pre-study is to investigate the design, functionality and potential of the FlexGate concept. The goal is to proceed with subsequent implementation projects where the concept is developed and demonstrated in real environments. The FlexGate concept involves a generalization of today´s mobility hubs: from parking and mobility services in the property management phase to shared use by more actors, with broader functionality and with a life cycle perspective - with potential for higher efficiency and accessibility as well as reduced climate and environmental impact.

Expected results and effects

The pre-study shall identify and evaluate central needs and solutions that the FlexGate concept can address. The overall benefits shall be estimated and the interaction between prioritized solutions shall be analyzed and illustrated in different scenarios. Finally, documentation will be produced for subsequent implementation projects. The breadth of activities and the consortium create cross-industry collaborations that create good conditions for scale-up and implementation. In the longer term, the concept can contribute to more shared and autonomous mobility solutions.

Planned approach and implementation

The implementation of the pre-study is primarily based on gathering a wide range of relevant stakeholders in a series of workshops which, among other things, addresses different needs, effects and business benefits. The project has five work packages and the findings will be presented at a final seminar with the aim of disseminating the resulting knowledge. Johanneberg Science Park and Lindholmen Science Park form the core of the consortium, while the other 20 parties are mainly involved as stake holders and actively contribute with their special knowledge and experience.
