Important results from the project
Fiber optics is the base of today´s global and local communication. The world are becoming smaller and smaller as the expansion of fiber optic networks are continuously connecting more and more people. This would not have been possible without extensive research and development. Research is the foundation for the creation of innovative ideas needed for a sustainable society.
Expected long term effects
Fiber optics are also used in a much wider sense such as in environmental measurements, medical applications, imaging, illumination, the laser industry or other project specific applications. What will be the next innovative idea based on fiber optics? Our mission is to create opportunities for new, competitive and innovative ideas by supporting research and development of products and services based on fiber optics.
