Feasibility study and preparations for planned healthcare project for the Chinese market

Purpose and goal

The objective was to investigate the possibility of building a Swedish health center, focussing on the elderly, as a reference project for the Chinese market. The goals were to conduct a feasibility study for the planned project, disseminate the results of the feasibility study through seminars and anchor and create interest in the project idea of Swedish companies and relevant stakeholders in Sweden and China. The study is done and the results disseminated in China and Sweden. A group of companies are discussing cooperation to develop the project further, with partners in China.

Expected results and effects

Completed feasibility study with project proposal: completed June 2016 Dissemination of information to relevant actors: during the project through seminars, workshops, delegations (in o outgoing) Gathering of companies interested in participating in the implementing the project; in Autumn 2016, a group of companies now plans further cooperation. Implementation planning in cooperation with Chinese partners; contacts with China continue, the implementation has been delayed from their side, other partnership opportunities are examined alongside the original one.

Planned approach and implementation

Jan-Mar: preparatory meetings, on-site visit in China, writing the feasibility study; according to plan Apr: feasibility study completed; delayed, completed in June Apr-Jun: dissemination, raising interest through seminars, coordination with Chinese partner; May-Nov 2016 Jun-Oct: compilation of business proposals; according to plan, needs further developing Sep-Oct: presentation of the proposal at a conference / seminar in China; done through incoming visit in May, electronically during autumn. Conference in China turned into smaller meeting (Nov) with relevant parties.
