Important results from the project
The objective of the project has been to construct an external Fabry-Perot interferometer to measure the cavity deformation of an Fabry-Perot refractometer with an accuracy of 0.1 nm. The overall objective consisting of the constructing an interferometer has been met, however, the specific objective of reaching an accuracy of 0.1 nm could not b met as non-linear effects in the mirrors limit the accuracy. Within the project a new promising method has been developed which will be tested in future project.
Expected long term effects
The work within the project has contributed to two articles in scientific journals and the development of a new method to measure the cavity deformation. The new method will be developed and tested in a new project starting in 2024 financed by Vinnova within the framework of the National Metrology Institute activities
Approach and implementation
The project has progressed well throughout. The project relates to several other project, and has been able to use experience and equipment from other those, something that greatly helped the project. That the project did not reach the specific objective is outside the implementation of the project, and with new methods we hope to be able to achieve that objective in upcoming efforts.
