Important results from the project
Thanks to the Vinnova project, we received new information about the complexity of making a simple production. We have a much higher knowledge and experience today. If we compare the first test with the upcoming third test, the quality and knowledge are at a completely different level. In addition to this, we now know what eligibility requirements we have to impose on the manufacturing process, premises, staff, tools, etc. We have seen and realized our strengths and weaknesses and got a motivation to drive development further. The attention we have received also shows the need for it.
Expected long term effects
We have, thanks to the project, a verified and constructed product. Thanks to, and partly the purpose of, the project, we also have: - Obtained proposals for alternative designs that we can use. - Established contacts with suppliers and consultants interested in future cooperation. - Created an understanding of the role of the staff. - Comprehensive information on how the premises must be designed. - A real product to show partners, customers, interested and suppliers. - A product to be able to test resistance to weather and wind and to measure the stresses it is subject to.
Approach and implementation
Each moment in the manufacture has been documented in a journal with notes on problems and improvements. Unfortunately, during the course of the project, we changed project manager and production manager. When the new ones were realistically deployed, the exchange went well. However, we have used hired staff where our experience of this has unfortunately been negative. We experienced problems with changing staff as the requirements for staff were relatively extensive. Every change of personnel was an effort for production in lost speed and quality. Staff turnover should be avoided.
