Important results from the project

Yes. The goal of the preparatory project was to work with selected actors to develop a concept for a European innovation cluster for smart and circular innovations intended for use in the healthcare sector and to formulate and submit a main project proposal to Horizon Europe. Unfortunately, no relevant call for proposals was identified in 2024, but work is underway with applications that are in line with the project goal and these will be submitted in 2025.

Expected long term effects

This project contributes to the long-term creation of an international innovation ecosystem for smart and circular innovations intended for use in the healthcare sector, where relevant actors and resources in, among other things, materials science and life science are connected. The work has been initiated, and will continue in the future. In the long term, the project is therefore expected to contribute to reducing climate change and thereby contributing to several goals within Agenda 2030.

Approach and implementation

The project has carried out an Environmental and Stakeholder Analysis, including in collaboration with Business Sweden (France and Germany). Similar initiatives and trends in sustainable innovations and Life Science in France and Germany, with a focus on healthcare and health, have been identified. Joint planning has been done to engage suitable partners, including in France, Germany, Estonia and Sweden. Ongoing work to develop two applications to Horizon. The collaboration has worked very well.
