Euraxess activity project

Reference number
Coordinator Göteborgs Universitet - Gästservice
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 983 041
Project duration December 2014 - December 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project was to create an active and effective EURAXESS network in Sweden. The number of network members has increased by 50%, from 40 to 60. Two to three network meetings per year have been arranged. The number of institutions who have signed the Declaration of Commitment has increased by more than 50%, from five to eleven. They are presented on the web portal and have the opportunity to participate in EURAXESS activities. The new EURAXESS portal is interactive and contains practical information about working in Sweden, available research jobs and funding opportunities.

Expected results and effects

The project has promoted EURAXESS missions and goals; facilitate research mobility, promote career development, inform about rights and make available research jobs in Europe visible. The network members have discussed obstacles to research mobility as well as been in contact with authorities responsible for mobility issues. The members have increased their skills by taking part in study visits both in Sweden and in Europe. Welcome Services has informed the network about EURAXESS HR Award and other initiatives within EURAXESS Europe such as career development for researchers.

Planned approach and implementation

Vinnova has been holding the BHO function with Welcome Services in an assisting role. Both have been part of the national steering group for EURAXESS. Welcome Services has coordinated the Swedish network and arranged activities as well as informed about new initiatives within EURAXESS Europe. After the launch of the new EURAXESS portal in November 2016, Welcome Services has been responsible for the work and development of the portal.
