Purpose and goal

Greenfield´s exploration of deposits so far undetectable due to its large penetration depth and the re-evaluation of former mining sites, where new technology allows mining to become economically again. In the proposed project, we achieved to develop new sensor technologies, platforms, processing tools as well as inversion and interpretation methodologies for a new airborne magnetic exploration tools that can detect previously undiscovered deposits in a sustainable way and make new resources available for the benefit of European industry.

Expected results and effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Technologies for a new, smart exploration tool that combines several methods at once were developed in the project, It includes: new and advanced sensing technologies: new cryostat for longer endurance between refills, new reading and data collection electronics machining tools, new navigation software for controlled airborne operation, new airborne platform towed by helicopter, advanced workflow for data processing, advanced inversion and interpretation tools.

Planned approach and implementation

Technologies for a new, smart exploration tool that combines magnetic, full magnetic gradiometry, passive electromagnetic and VLF methods were developed at the same time in the project, which makes it possible to extract exact 3D models of the underlying magnetization sector and conductivity in an exploration operation. It contains: new and advanced sensing technologies: new SQUID-based gradiometers and SQUID-based magnetometers with the highest resolution and stability, new OPMs for scalar measurements and support for calibration,
