Important results from the project
The objective of the project was to carry out a basic development, from idea to TRL 3, of installation method for fasteners in composite components intended for serial production, in order to obtain proof of a working method and thus enable further development of the installation method and tool solution.
Expected long term effects
The project has strengthened Adabond´s competitiveness and created the opportunity to further develop the installation method for various types of elements such as fasteners, sensors etc. in composite components. An invention disclosure will be filed and possibly a patent application as well.
Approach and implementation
The project should verify the installation method and develop it from idea to TRL 3. The method has been tested on four occasions. Between these occasions, modifications were done that lead to a positive result with evidence of a working method. The project has used a die set from another Vinnova project. The intended hydraulic press was replaced with a new one during the project, whereby the end date had to be postponed. The new press resulted in mechanical and software technical extra work.
