Entrepreneurship across borders

Project duration August 2015 - December 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

Purpose of the project has been to hold an entrepreneurship course for immigrants, focusing on business ideas with a direct association with their former home countries. We have also developed the concept GREN for implementation by other actors, such as municipalities, Arbetsförmedlingen, or private organisations, in their integration projects. The project´s goal was that more immigrants get to start their own business, with a connection to their former home countries. Both purpose and goal have been met.

Expected results and effects

Project results include the outcomes of the entrepreneurship course we held, where 10 participants completed the course, several of which started, or planned to start, their own businesses shortly afterwards. Results also include the development of the concept GREN. Of this, the effects are that we will spread the concept, through scaling and selling to service providers across the country.

Planned approach and implementation

Project implementation was somewhat affected by the ongoing refugee crisis, as we had some trouble reaching the right project partners and/or service providers. We managed however to attract the attention of both course participants and potential service providers, possibly with the help of the unique inclusive business approach. In the end, we completed the project according to the project plan.
