Purpose and goal

The project is a collaboration between Linköping University and Teledyne SP Devices AB, Radar Reticence AB, and Comnisens AB. The objective is to develop energy-efficient algorithms for digital linearization of wideband 6G-systems hardware. The development will be carried out via relevant test data and measurements, taking temperature dependencies and aging effects into account. Then the developed algorithms will be adapted and demonstrated in spectral-efficiency enhancement technologies.

Expected effects and result

The project contributes to 6G systems by advancing on energy-efficient digital linearization, complying with the Agenda of 2030 of stringent resource and energy efficiency. The technology finds applications in wideband receivers and transmitters as well as production testing and spectral efficiency enhancement. The collaboration between academia and industry offers dissemination of the results through scientific publications and competence supply, as well as commercialization of 6G equipment.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is a collaboration between Linköping University and the companies Teledyne SP Devices AB, Radar Reticence AB, and Comnisens AB. The project will be implemented through collaboration in three work packages with clear objectives and expected outcomes, and recurrent common meetings to ensure progress. At LiU, the work will be carried out by PhD students (employed by LiU) supervised by the project manager, with support from the industry parties.
