Purpose and goal
The project concerns proposal to the international call for
doctoral research school "Horizon-MSCA-2025-DN-01-01", and includes 15 partners in Europe for a proposal of high quality and excellence. The project conducts proof-of-concept studies with in vitro models for 3D cultivation of colorectal and breast cancer. The aim is to model cells and extracellular matrix, treat with drugs and mimic the in vivo situation. The project also aims to meet new partners in Europe, and consultancy work.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to give a positive outcome in the call Horizon-MSCA-2025-DN-01-01. If the project is granted, 15 partners in Europe will employ 15 doctoral students working with 3D in vitro models, cell systems of colorectal and breast cancer and clinical material. The project develops models that are missing today, such as metastatic cancer to the liver. The cell models include proteins, immune cells and supporting cells. The project includes applications at RNA, DNA and protein levels.
Planned approach and implementation
During the project period July-November 2025, the following will be carried out:
-Proof-of-concept studies with new in vitro models and cell systems involving 3D models of metastatic cancer. Evaluation of these models in order to be able to incorporate valuable preliminary results in the proposal.
-Travel to new partners, meetings and discussions
-Write a high-quality proposal to the call for proposals "Horizon-MSCA-2025-DN-01-01" and include consultancy work for best implementation.
