Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project Faktiskt.se, work name Valkollen at the time of application, was that the participating companies would jointly conduct an advanced factual check of digital claims during the Swedish election campaign. Within the framework of this, there was also a strong training effort to increase knowledge of factual control. The project achieved its purpose and objectives.
Expected results and effects
All in all, 150 well-elaborated facts were carried out on claims. The impact and use was extensive with 8-9 million page references.
Planned approach and implementation
The project was complex in its nature with several incoming companies that are competitors in their daily news coverage. The project had not been possible to implement without the project group consisting of operational managers as detailed planning activities. In summary, it was a pedagogical challenge to get the audience and the critics to understand that the companies cooperated on method and dissemination, but not on the content of the checks. But that model ensured that we retained editorial independence throughout the project, which was an important basic requirement.
