Purpose and goal
The goal of eGovlab - National demonstration and test environment for Public Innovation (NDT) is to provide a national forum for demonstration and testing of e-government solutions. The objectives of this project period has been well met and NDT now have a functioning technical infrastructure and has initiated two strategic projects. Moreover, parts of the initial results forms the basis for the exhibition opening at Digital Art Center in the fall. In addition to the planned objectives of the project period, a case study has been carried out in the city of Stockholm.
Results and expected effects
The results correspond well to the expected effects at this stage of the project. The effects that mainly are pursued have been to create awareness of NDT, which we have succeeded with well, and to establish a functioning technical infrastructure that meets the needs of the strategic projects. The technical infrastructure is far more mature than the current needs of the strategic projects and makes it possible for the NDT to take on more technically demanding projects than the strategic projects still represent. We have been asked to evaluate the Estonian state platform X-Roads.
Approach and implementation
The project has been divided into four work packages that run over the five project phases. The four work packages consist of marketing, demonstration and testing, research and project management. This approach has so far responded well to the needs of the project. However, we note that the need for change management and facilitation of stakeholders´ needs and expectations in the two strategic projects is great. Without continued funding from Vinnova, it becomes difficult to drive these processes forward.
