Important results from the project

The Swedish building permit process is a time- and resource consuming process. The purpose of this project is to explore the possibilities of a more efficient and accessible building permit process, including the aspects of legal conditions, actual necessity, staff climate and technical requirements.

Expected long term effects

The result of this study is that the most efficiant way to improve the building permit process and the quality of the application is to involve the applicant throughout the process. This includes ICT Tools and database solutions.

Approach and implementation

Gathering and compiling information of the Swedish building permit system has been a central part of our work. Areas such as legality, process designs, time consumption and digital tools has been pursued and documented.
