Important results from the project

The purpose of the project was to be able to streamline and digitize the preparation process for manufacturing a bathroom, i.e. how we go from drawings to milling programs for our industrial robots. This is to be able to change between different models more quickly and thereby also be able to offer bathrooms to private individuals. During the project, we have developed a software that automatically generates robot code for processing board material based on 3D models of bathrooms and used the Arrowhead framework for communication internally with us and between us and our customers.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The main result of the project is the software for the automatic generation of robot code and the communication paths between us and the customer. Thanks to this, our robots can automatically download the latest CAD models from the customers and generate the robot code themselves just before the milling starts. In this way, we ensure that we have started from the latest update of the geometry and we shorten the lead times that would otherwise be required to do this manually.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** It took a while before we got into the project and could start the development work. On the one hand, it is a large project with many partners, and on the other in an area that is slightly outside our expertise. Our use case has had partners within Norrbotten, so we have been able to work very efficiently and concentrated in periods thanks to the physical proximity. It was especially important during the covid era because we could still meet even though it was not possible to fly.
