Important results from the project

The project´s aim is to develop a solution for secure issuance of eID to vehicles for V2X communication for increased traffic safety, and for small IoT units to be able to communicate securely from vehicles to the outside world with the least possible resources and be able to renew eID as needed. The goal has been achieved through updated product release and service ready for operation, by design of new technology and basis for coming standardization work.

Expected long term effects

Results in the form of updated product and also establishment of a service for commercial use has begun during the project. Publication of scientific results has taken place within the framework of the project. Contacts have been established with other participants in the project at European level and are expected to lead to more collaborations and commercial use in the future. Actors outside the project have shown interest in using the results commercially.

Approach and implementation

The Swedish partners have collaborated on the definition of new methods, security protocols, publications and future standardization. New contacts have been established with project participants at European level through the collaborations established during the project. The European cooperation has led to results of product development being able to be validated and demonstrated on a larger scale with several actors and together with other partners´ development work in related areas.
