Purpose and goal
The objective of MegaM@Rt2 was to create an integrated suite of methods, and tools that supports model-driven Engineering as well as provide knowledge and competence around MBSE. Volvo CE is keen on adopting techniques to facilitate digital transformation in its development processes. As a specific case, for MegaM@RT2, Volvo CE set an objective to explore methods that can support the development of highly configurable engine systems. Collaboration with Mälardalens Högskola and partners such as Softeam, have shown improvements across various phases of the development process.
Expected results and effects
Volvo Construction Equipment applied and evaluated new method and tools for model-based systems engineering, product line engineering and model-based testing for the development and validation of engine control software. A potential improvement in terms of reduction of development lead time and increase in product quality was demonstrated by using tools developed by Mälardalens Högskola and other consortium partners. Results has provided Volvo CE an opportunity to apply the emerging standards and best-practices as evident from increased focus on systems modeling.
