Important results from the project

Yes. The goals of the project were to create a greater understanding of the work of issuing digital credentials and verifying information in EBSI. Within the framework of the project, we have both contributed to the business blueprint, where the project summarized opportunities for EBSI in the education sector, and contacts with around 40 universities around Europe. In addition, RISE has implemented and tested issuing in EBSI through its own system "Mina Mikromeriter".

Expected long term effects

The project has provided a solid foundation and understanding of how digital credentials are integrated with internal systems in EBSI. In addition, RISE has registered as an "Trusted Issuer" (TIR)" and initiated collaboration with Digital Wallet Providers in Sweden (iGrant). This collaboration will continue after the end of the project. We have also gained a good understanding of all components included in EIDAS and ARF, which means that we will continue the work with digital credentials.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out in WP4 (Education) where RISE was involved in all parts, from defining the business blueprint to mapping opportunities and challenges with EBSI in the education sector to actually implementing and testing. RISE made a effort by helping to spread information and about opportunities with EBSI for the European University. The integration of digital credentials was done in our own system for micro-merits that was created in the previous Vinnova project Kompetenpasset.
