Important results from the project

We achieved the goal of establishing a tested infrastructure for using smart watches to monitor health risks in connection with acute medical events. This infrastructure will be able to form the basis for large-scale collaborative projects nationally and internationally.

Expected long term effects

We have laid the foundation for the necessary collaborations to implement larger and cross-organizational projects that can lead to increased opportunities for the use of patient-centered analyses in the design of care. This is expected, in turn, to lead to higher patient safety and efficiency in the acute care chain.

Approach and implementation

After the initial composition of the international project group, a detailed plan was drawn up, the first step of which was the acquisition of patient-friendly equipment. At the same time, IT infrastructure for data management and training of personnel were established in parallel with the ethical permits being put in place. Data collection is now being completed according to plan and preliminary analyses are being carried out continuously before the notification of results.
