Project duration July 2023 - June 2024
Status Completed

Important results from the project

The project has studied a multi-faceted problem that includes a safety-critical system’s requirements, achieving functionality with timeliness, cybersecurity aspects of information flow, and fault tolerance due to node or link failures. The study of these properties at an early concept stage is difficult due to all possible open options and topologies for networked nodes. The goal was to define approaches and tools to support the system engineer to come up with early system architecture, which has been successfully achieved.

Expected long term effects

The project has resulted in methods and tools for efficiently searching in large solution spaces of topologies, which has been documented in a research article published in a journal and a conference paper that have formed the last part of contributions to a PhD thesis defended in June 2024.

Approach and implementation

The work that had started and needed to be published and formally defended in a PhD thesis was successfully carried out using the bridging financing after the earlier project. This ensured no interruptions and disturbances for the research carried out by the PhD student.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
