Purpose and goal
In this project we will develop new optical and superconducting coatings directly on optical fibers for high-performance single-photon detectors and entangled sources. These new filters will enable instruments operating at the quantum limit to reach higher performances.
Expected effects and result
The results of this project will be new components to make quantum optics instruments more efficient. We will enable new quantum sources as well as quantum detectors that will reach higher performances. These new components will impact the product portfolio of Quantum Scopes AB and will enable offering instruments with higher performances. This will result in higher sales and larger market penetration.
Planned approach and implementation
The approach in this project is based on the development and validation of new materials by Grein Research to generate new optical filters built directly on optical fibers and new superconducting films on reflectors. The new materials will be studied and validated by Quantum Scopes AB and Single Quantum BV before being implemented in complete instruments. Quantum Scopes intends to make use of optical filters in its instruments.
